Storage and shipping

Storage and shipping is everything that happens to an order after the money clears: someone finds the item on a shelf, checks it, packs it, labels it, hands it to a carrier, and handles it a second time if it comes back. It is usually one of the largest costs per order after the product itself, and a mistake in that routine is never made once, it is made again on every order behind it. The decisions underneath are small and unglamorous: where plain warehousing stops and fulfillment begins, when packing orders yourself stops being the cheaper option, how to weigh one Saudi carrier against another on coverage, speed, cash on delivery, tracking and returns, and why a shipping bill charges you for a parcel's volume and its failed delivery attempts before it charges you for the item inside.
